Why is it so difficult to stand out from the crowd?

Reflections from our CEO, Mimmis Cleeren, on why it's so hard to stand out from the crowd.

Many clients have asked me this. I often see the following common problems:

  1. Lack of target group analysis / ICP definition they use the same generic messaging to everyone, no segmentation.

  2. Poor / unclear Value Proposition not clear what they offer to whom and why (why should they care), often a "packaging" problem.

  3. Lack of content strategy (based on the above) their content is a bit all over the place, feels random, generic, does not feel relevant to or address customers' problems.

  4. Brand identity they look the same as everyone else in their industry or their profile doesn't fit with their target audiences and market positioning.

  5. Channel selection they are not using the right channels to reach their target audiences, or they're using the wrong format/tactic for the channel.
