KPMG Sweden held its annual Tech Mingle event last week. Every year, KPMG and Tomas Bennich/Sweden Growth Alliance with partners invite a mix of guests from the Swedish tech industry: tech innovators, entrepreneurs / startups and investors/VCs, as well as representatives from large corporations.

Tech innovation / investment panel

An interesting investor and corporate executive panel was held, moderated by Ulf Borgcrantz from KPMG with panelists from Volvo Group Venture Capital, Stena Metall New Ventures, SKF Ventures, Lovable and eEquity, discussing innovation challenges, technology trends, investment priorities, and the benefits of corporate/startup collaboration.

It's clear that ecosystem collaboration is more important than ever. Big corporations continue to take an active interest in startup innovation as a way to accelerate their own innovation pace and find solutions to key challenges through digitalization, AI, and automation.

Corporates often engage or directly invest in innovation hubs/programs and offer capital and resources/expertise to help startups land bigger customers and scale up their business. Investment companies like eEquity provide funding and coaching to ambitious founders with the aim to help them scale their businesses into European and global market leaders. This kind of ecosystem collaboration is crucial for Swedish competitiveness.

Does your Go-to-Market strategy match your tech ambitions?

For your startup to become successful, it however takes more than great technology and cash. Bottom line: Your go-to-market strategy must be as sophisticated as your technology.

As a consultancy firm with over 25 years of international experience in B2B / tech marketing and communications, SUNMICO specializes in helping tech companies with transformation and scale-up strategies. We keep our finger on the pulse in the Swedish tech scene, and always find these types of tech/business mixers extremely valuable. It's a chance to speak directly with the movers and shakers about how we can help tech companies scale up and grow. We're confident that one or more of the startups has the potential to scale and be successful.
